Who we are

We’re transforming food systems to create a healthier, more sustainable future.

Food Systems for the Future (FSF) Institute is a U.S. 501 (c)(3) organization led by Ambassador Ertharin Cousin. Through deep sector expertise, a network of advisors, and institutional partnerships, we address malnutrition with an economically sustainable climate lens.

At the FSF Institute we believe:

Food is health, food is culture, and food is love

We work to achieve the goal of ensuring every family everywhere has affordable access to diverse nutritious food. FSF partners with diverse actors to deliver equitable resilient market-based solutions for the just and sustainable transformation of the food system.

Our work includes creating the macro policy ecosystem to drive the public-will for an environmentally sustainable hunger and malnutrition free world.

No one organization working alone will end hunger and malnutrition.

We always seek to collaborate with innovative partners with a shared goal of building robust food systems to improve access to healthy, nutritious foods for human and planetary health.

Working Around the Globe

The FSF Institute maintains one mission, with two operating teams: United States and Africa

Both teams operationalize the shared theory of change that by creating the necessary ecosystem, while identifying and partnering with too often overlooked and underfunded talented teams across the food system, we can deliver nutrition impact through economically sustainable operations.

At Food Systems for the Future, our dedication lies in creating a welcoming atmosphere that supports creative, market-oriented solutions that yield economic and social benefits along the whole value chain. Our focus on diverse systems extends to scaling businesses that revolutionize food systems for environmental and human health. Through strategic partnerships and innovative capital infusion, we address historical investor reluctance, thereby advancing a more resilient and equitable food system that benefits all.

The Food Systems for the Future team works continuously to create an organizational culture that truly values diversity of systems and equitable access to nutritious food in every neighborhood, rural and urban alike.
