Hamid Hamirani

Senior Investment Advisor

Hamid Hamirani is an advisor to Food Systems for the Future advising on investment opportunities and structuring of agriculture and food funds in Sub Saharan Africa. He is also a board member and audit company chairman of Musandum Power Company – an independent power provider in Oman.
Hamid is a FCCA and has over 25 years of leadership experience with the last 12 years as the former advisor to the Minister of Finance, Sultanate of Oman, advising the minister on sovereign wealth funds, the national oil & gas company, and the national airline of Oman.

Hamid has overseen over 20 billion-dollar spent, investments and financial restructuring in the public and private sector in a diverse range from seaports, aviation, agriculture, oil & gas, renewables, real estate development, shipping & FMGs.

As an investment committee member between 2013 and 2018 of the Oman Investment Fund (now known as Oman Investment Authority), Hamid was involved in investments decision making, asset management reviews, development strategy for Oman Technical Funds, aquaculture, and investments in several sectors ranging from real estate, mining, telecom, manufacturing, retail and hospitality and tourism, generating IRR in excess of the respective asset class benchmarks.

Hamid played a key role on behalf of the Finance Minister in the two sovereign wealth funds in providing corporate governance framework, investment guidelines, audit and risk committee charter, delegated limits of authority, currency risk management strategy.

As the advisor to the Minister of Finance Hamid has advised on fiscal and monetary policies, sovereign ratings, government financial and management information systems & public finance management.
